Elbit Systems is launching a lightweight electro-optical payload designed to address the requirements of short-range applications such as homeland security and law enforcement missions involving small UAVs, light helicopters and naval vessels. The new pod, designated EMOS, weighs around 14 pounds and fits into standard 6.7-inch turret dimensions. The payload can carry two sensors, including a day zoom color CCD and uncooled FLIR equipped with auto-tracking capability.
